About the Artist...
Hi I'm Melissa. I'm a Prop Maker, Set Designer for Theatre and Film, Costume Designer and Scenic Artist, based in Kent. I have completed my studies at the University for the Creative Arts, Rochester. Achieving a First Class Honours Degree in Design for Theatre, Film and Performance. Before this I completed a Diploma in Fine Art achieving a Merit.
I enjoy drawing, painting, model-making, sculpting, photography anything to get my hands dirty. I have dabbled in Resin Artwork making gifts for friends and family. I have also used my skills to create little art pieces for the local Preschools Gruffalo Cafe. I love theme parks and getting that thrill they bring, going on adventures and documenting it all.
Throughout my years in education I was able to gain knowledge of workshop machinery and industry materials. I have always wanted to learn more and I'm always looking for opportunities to expand my skills. While I just finished university in April 2020 at the beginning of Covid, I have taken some time to reflect on my achievements over my years of education, however now I feel ready to get myself back out there in my happy place in the creative industry.
" I am a keen learner with big interest in the film design industry from props, sets and characters to costumes. I am also a huge movie fan and love the theatre as well as arts. I am looking to expand my skills further and develop myself further.
